First kayak ever purchased for my husband and I, and while it's a bit slow going when the wind picks up, it's a super fun kayak for warmer weather! As some other reviewers have noted, tracking isn't great but we just use these for goofin around on the lake/river when the weather permits. The only other thing I wasn't thrilled with was the foot pegs. Would be nice if they were adjustable but again, we're not racing on these or doing any serious paddling. I'm excited to deck mine out for some summer fishing and river float trips!

This is my first kayak and took it out at one of my local lakes 15-25mph wind did better than I expected tracked well and was stable in a decent amount of chop on the water I'm a bigger guy about 230 pounds and was easy to get in and out of. Only thing I don't like is the compartments for storage sent waterproof. Plan to use it for duck hunting a way to retrieve them since I don't have a dog that's is trained or the time to train one. Kayaks are great because they are quiet and don't scare them.Overall I'm looking forward to many seasons with this boat .

I own five kayaks in a variety of sizes and configurations. I often take friends out in my boats and often have fewer boats then requests so I decided to buy a tandem. While looking at many tandems I realized that they can often be on trick ponies difficult to paddle for one person. Then I saw the Rambler one person or two or even three under the right circumstances. Seemed like a good deal then I took it out on the water, Man I love this kayak, granted it isn't as fast as some of my other boats but it is stable, tracks well no matter how many are aboard and it will haul gear. My dogs love it I take two small dogs and occasionally a cat plenty of room for everyone. This boat may not be for everyone but if you are looking for a versatile, affordable, quality tandem take a look at the rambler. You won't be disappointed.

I own two of these 126 DLX Anglers and I've kayaked through Deception Pass in one of them. Kayaking Deception Pass is dangerous. Proceed at your own risk.

The bottom is actually con-caved slightly with a dihedral hull making them very stable in calm and rough waters, but care must be taken when transiting large waves and boat wakes, especially from behind. Large waves and boat wakes are best approached head on at a 45* angle in this kayak. A skirt can be attached to the cockpit if rough water is expected or for warmth in colder climates.

There are two stows, front and rear. The front is not really accessible when sitting in the cockpit and is small, but dry. The rear is easier to access but is not a dry compartment. The bungee cords are great for holding gear, like an extra paddle, a duffle, a jacket or a rope.

Foot pegs are easily adjusted while sitting.

Tackle box and dash provide nice platforms to work from or mount accessory holders.

All metal screws are stainless steel and have yet to rust after many years of use!

Backrest is adjustable. I highly recommend getting a life jacket that is specifically for sitting in a kayak, though and you may want to throw in a stadium cushion if you're going to be sitting in it for a few hours.

Overall, it's a very reliable craft; sturdy and stable and even a bit sea worthy, though not as fast or agile as an ocean kayak.

1st off you're not going to find another yak with a n actual seat for this price. Only thing with the seat is it has plastic clips that hold it in the bottom part. I don't know how easy those will be to break.
Tracking is pretty good for this price point. My pescador pro tracks better but it Is wider and heavier but again for this price point I'd buy this specific yak all day.
There's no dry storage but I'd take the trade out of a comfy seat over dry storage anyday.

Let me just start out by saying the colors were so vibrant and beautiful in person, it made it hard to pick one! I ended up going with the sea foam/yellow. The size and weight made it easy to transport home. I left it outside the night I purchased it not realizing that it was supposed to rain and it ended up filling with water. The plug in the back made it easy to drain the next day. I tested it out the next day and was so pleased with the stability, how much room inside and how fast I was gliding across the water. Very happy with my purchase!

Very good entry level kayak. Well balanced and lightweight.

I am a novice kayaker, I purchased a sit on top two years ago and it was the worst experience ever, I could not get it to trac straight. I bought this pelican after researching and I have had the best time out on the lake with it. If you’re looking for a basic kayak to paddle around on this is the one. Can’t beat the price.

I bought this last year and have used it so much on so many different bodies of water. Everything from the Gulf of Mexico to white water in Arkansas. And that’s why I’m writing this review.

Went down a river with class 2 and 3 rapids. Handled it like a champ. Took on a little water but most just fell off because of the little crease down the side. It had some water in the front compartment and in the back. Very flexible and although somewhat sticky on the rocks, it was easy to get moving again. I was very impressed.

Used it on the Gulf for fishing and it is very stable! Caught a big ‘ol redfish and didn’t even teeter totter one bit. Handles small whitecaps well with little water taken on.

Did a three day camping trip in Arkansas and was able to fit a lot of gear in too- it took some Tetris-like packing skills, but could fit mostly everything in.

The only cons I have is that when it does take on water, you have to get out of the water and tip it up to drain. No biggie though. It still floats 1/2 full.
Also, a cup holder would be nice. So when I’m fishing it would be easier to cast and set my cold pop down without it spilling.
One last thing is maybe a holder on the side for the paddle. When it’s across the boat and I’m fishing, I often knock it off. I usually put it across the boat so it’s to the left of my side and comes across the right side of the front.

Tldr: This boat floats. It’s stable and great. Great float at a great price. Could use paddle holder for making fishing easier and a cup holder. But not that big of a deal.
