Bought this during the Memorial Day sale (I would recommend only buying this kayak on sale, not worth $400+) We purchased kayaks as our first, we were looking for starter kayaks for both fishing and recreational paddling. Other disclaimer is we have only been on a calm lake thus far.
Here are a few things I wish I knew before we purchased 2 of these kayaks.
1) I'm 5'10 and a scrape my legs on front edge of tackle box \"front dash\", if I'm not careful. In my opinion if you're much taller the kayak would be even more uncomfortable to get in and out of. I added foam to the front edge to reduce the scraping. Once inside the kayak the foot pedals are adjustable for height.
2) Back cargo is not water proof (I knew this prior to purchasing but worth noting) It is open to the cockpit, so whatever water gets in there will also be in cargo area
3) Front cargo is shallow, some reviews noted this and wished for larger space, I don't mind it being shallow, If it was deeper you wouldn't be able to access while in the kayak.
4) Thigh pads are ok, they are hooked down on top but rely on it just \" sticking\" on the inside, it constantly becomes unstuck especially in the heat.
5) The fishing rod holder holds the fishing pole at an outward angle, meaning that reel occasionally spins down and dips in water. I always \"leash\" my rod while traveling in case I accidently knock it out but I haven't actually knocked it out.
Overall we like our kayaks! There are great starter kayaks when purchased on sale. It is quiet long and on the heavier side for recreational use but we wanted kayaks that had some fishing features.Fa****m
I have owned this kayak for over a year. I have kayaked and fished in every season. I have taken this kayak down swift moving creeks, slow moving rivers and on calm and turbulent lakes. This kayak is stable in the water and provides decent tracking. This kayak also is great for fishing but is very basic. The only negatives for this kayak are the open stern cargo compartment. This cargo compartment is a good space for storage but will have water pool in that space which will add to the weight and has gotten my stuff wet. the Exopod 17L storage container which comes with the kayak is not waterproof and as such is not an added value. The kayak is made out of strong and sturdy material and my kayak has many ding and scrapes. There is a dent in the bottom stern which happened when the kayak was dropped while being unloading from my vehicle. still preforms great.

I bought this about 1 month ago having never been in a kayak. I have used it several times and am very pleased with it. It is very stable on the water. I recommend this for a recreational kayak.

My husband and I bought 2 of these kayaks and love them! The seats are very comfort for long kayak trips and very easy to adjust to your comfort level. We took them out every day over the Memorial Day weekend and had a blast on them. Even with choppy waters with boats and jet skis these kayaks were very stable and never did they flip over!! If you are looking for one this is the one!! You won't be disappointed!!

Love the colors and ease of use, just wish it had carry handles on the sides

My wife and I bought a pair of these and are very happy with their performance and ease of handling. We enjoy using them in our nearby lakes and broad river, and find them very stable and reasonably easy to paddle. Not racing kayaks by any means but very good into the wind and wind-blown current. Under hard paddling the bow will move slightly left or right, but not enough to create problems. Storage is fine for day trips. Fun boats!

Bought this after they were all sold out last year! Just got it on the water last week & absolutely love it! It’s light enough for me being 5’2”, 115lbs to maneuver and stable on the water! Great for beginners! Can’t wait for all the adventures ahead with the family!
